A chat with 'Pansies' author Brenna Estrada

"Hopeful ambassador of overlooked flowers"

🌟 BRAND NEW BONUS CONTENT! 🌟

This video chat with Brenna follows on from my previous post, reviewing her new book, Pansies.

When I read ‘Pansies - how to grow, reimagine and create beauty with pansies and violas’ I felt two compulsions. The first was to go online and buy more pansy and viola seeds to add to my already burgeoning collection!

The second compulsion was to get in touch with the author, Brenna Estrada, so that I could speak to her directly about these wonderful plants.

Brenna is an accomplished flower farmer, who has spent several years growing and trialling pansies at her home on the West Coast of the US. Formerly a marine, and a 911 call handler, she spent time at the renowned Floret Flower Farm, which is where her passion for pansies began to grow.

We had a great conversation about her love for these flowers, her experience of growing them, and writing the book, and how she hopes to bring them to a deserving place in the spotlight.

If you want to get your hands on the book you can find it here.

I also recommend you follow Brenna on Instagram, where she posts utterly beautiful photos of pansies, violas and the other gorgeous flowers she grows at her farm. You can find her @threebrothersblooms.

FYI this is my first Substack video! I enjoyed the conversation so much I wanted to share it, so I hope you enjoy it and that you’ll also learn a bit more about these pretty, tough and pretty tough little plants!

These are the pansies currently flourishing on my front step!

Thanks for reading Cultivar! This post is public so feel free to share it.
